Away With The Fairies

Away With The Fairies is the creative textile practice of Emma Le Monnier, a Jersey-based artist specialising in natural dyeing, eco-printing, spinning, and embroidery. Working from the leafy parish of St Peter, Emma creates handcrafted scarves, wall hangings, stitched artwork, garments, and whimsical Jersey Fairies inspired by nature and heritage crafts.

Using leaves and plants collected from around Jersey, Emma captures moments in time through natural dye and eco-printing techniques, producing unique patterns and colours that can never be exactly replicated. Sustainability is central to her work, with many pieces created using thrifted natural fabrics, naturally dyed threads, and hand-spun wool.

Alongside her textile art, Emma handcrafts distinctive fairies from wool she spins herself, adding needle-felted details and delicate wings to create one-of-a-kind characters. Her slow, mindful creative process celebrates craftsmanship, storytelling, and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
