Green Waste Team

The Green Waste Team, part of the Government of Jersey’s Solid Waste Department, produces a high-quality peat-free soil improver from garden waste and prunings. Based at La Collette, the team plays a key role in recycling organic waste and supporting sustainable practices across the island.

Through a carefully controlled composting process, waste materials are transformed into a valuable resource that meets recognised industry standards. This reduces reliance on imported peat-based products while promoting environmentally responsible alternatives.
