Skaapie (Cathryn Ward)

Cathryn Ward, creator of Skaapie Handmade, is a textile artist specialising in handcrafted felted products inspired by nature and island life. Originally from South Africa and now based in Jersey, Cathryn has spent over a decade developing her distinctive style, blending traditional techniques with contemporary design.

Her collection includes beautifully made baby mobiles, toys, homeware and wearable art, with themes ranging from woodland and nautical designs to botanical influences. Each piece is individually crafted, ensuring a unique and personal finish that reflects both creativity and craftsmanship.

Skaapie specialises in felt making workshops for all ages and abilities, encouraging people to slow down, learn new skills, and rediscover the joy of creating with their hands.

Skaapie also offers corporate wellbeing workshops and private parties, rooted in the belief that everyone is creative. Each session is designed to provide a welcoming and inspiring experience that builds confidence, connection, and a sense of calm through craft.
